I just saw something quite interesting in the conversation Elon Musk is having with investors. The guy is talking about a net worth of $10 trillion, nothing less. When Peter Diamandis mentioned that he had already surpassed $800 billion, Elon responded with a simple "$10T nothing." That’s the kind of mindset that moves markets.
What’s really capturing Wall Street’s attention is SpaceX. We’re talking about a valuation close to $1.5 trillion when it goes public. Nearly 200 investment institutions have traveled to Texas to see the presentation, and some managers are already reserving money, deciding how much they can buy. The interesting part is that some large funds are considering reducing their positions in massive tech, including Tesla, to free up liquidity for SpaceX.
Meanwhile, Tesla is having a tough year. It’s down 13% so far, making it the second-worst performer among the Mag7. On Stocktwits, the sentiment around TSLA is extremely bullish, although the conversation volume is low. Retail traders are watching how this unfolds, especially considering Elon is dividing his attention among multiple projects.
Now, about SpaceX and the power structure: the company is communicating to investors that no one can remove Elon as CEO or chairman of the board without his approval. Class B shares will have 10 votes each, and Elon is expected to control them after the listing. Basically, any serious attempt to oust him would go through the same voting power he controls. It’s a common structure in tech IPOs led by founders, but SpaceX is taking it further than most.
Meanwhile, Elon is also in a legal battle against OpenAI. Greg Brockman, co-founder of OpenAI, is expected to testify Monday in Oakland. Elon wants them to revert to a nonprofit model and is suing for breach of fiduciary duty. Apparently, Elon recently contacted Greg about a possible deal, threatening that “by the end of this week, you would be the most hated men in America.” OpenAI’s lawyers want the court to question Greg about that exchange. The amount of money and power at stake here is simply enormous, and it all revolves around how Elon Musk is positioning his empire for the coming years.
