The cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is looking for users to name the new mascot of the Ethereum Layer 2 network called Ink. To do this, Kraken is partnering with the Jokerace platform, which specializes in organizing competitions on the blockchain. The company has introduced a purple cartoon monster, symbolizing the chain Kraken is building based on Optimism.
JokeRace, established in 2022, allows users to participate in no-code competitions across more than 90 blockchains and has a mechanism to vote against Sybil. Users can earn money by participating and voting for the winners.
In July 2024, Maven 11 led a $3 million funding round for Kraken, aimed at expanding marketing operations. The Ink network is expected to release the INK token in 2025 to encourage development and liquidity with a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens.
