French tax authorities may have leaked information about cryptocurrency holders

PANews January 9 News, according to Cryptopolitan citing French media reports, a former French tax official may have leaked data of cryptocurrency holders by abusing their position, increasing the risk of physical attacks against this group. The former tax official Ghalia C. has been convicted of aiding organized crime and is currently appealing. Investigations show that she used her access to confidential tax databases to gather information on potential targets, including cryptocurrency investors, and may have leaked their location and capital gains data. Although there is no evidence that she planned actual attacks against cryptocurrency holders, this case reveals the risk that the tax system could become a source of data leaks. As European tax authorities tighten monitoring of cryptocurrency assets, such leaks could pose higher security threats to holders.
