You'll find a smart contract, sure. But flip the hood and what do you see? A Next.js app running on Vercel. Centralized infrastructure doing the heavy lifting while everyone salutes the decentralization flag.

Here's what happened though: everyone was too focused on the money play to actually construct something meaningful. Something people could genuinely build on top of. The infrastructure never got real because the incentives were all wrong.
