#WhenisBestTimetoEntertheMarket The crypto market is currently drowning in a state of “extreme fear.” The Fear & Greed Index is hovering between 5-12 – one of the lowest levels in its history. Last night, Bitcoin dropped to 64,270 during the Asian session and then recovered to around 66,000; today, it’s fluctuating between 64,000 and 67,000. The total market cap is shrinking, altcoins are losing even more value, and billions of dollars are flowing out of ETFs. Trump’s new 15% global tariff bomb also triggered a strong risk-off mode – no one is rushing to BTC as a “safe haven” right now; instead, it’s being sold as a high-beta asset.

But precisely because of this… if history is repeating, the best entry point is usually “when everyone has given up.”
Why does it look “worst” now but actually smells like opportunity?
• Extreme Fear = Capitulation signal
When Fear & Greed drops to 5, as it did in 2018 and 2022 bear bottoms, it’s usually close to the bottom. Panic selling is ending, weak hands are being shaken out, and true holders are accumulating.
• The 2025-2026 cycle is still alive
After the 2024 halving, a classic 12-18 month delay was expected before a bull run. Many analysts like (Pantera, Bitwise, CoinDCX) see 2026 as “the year of post-consolidation explosion.” Rotation could start in Q2-Q3, and an altseason might arrive in Q4. That “blow-off top” has not yet come.
• Is tariff noise temporary?
Trump’s 15% is limited to 150 days (Section 122). The markets see this as “noise” – unless a lasting trade war develops, BTC’s long-term narrative of (store of value, institutional adoption) remains intact. On the contrary, inflation fears + dollar strengthening could accelerate the shift into assets like gold/BTC.
• Historical pattern
Those who entered at the bottom in the 2022 bear market saw 10x gains in 2024-2025. The current drawdown is around 47-48% (from ATH 126k). Bear markets typically end with a 70-85% decline – so there’s more downside potential, but it’s also “cheap” at the same time.
So, when is the right time to enter? (Realistic strategy)
1. Don’t rush, do DCA
Behavioral risk is the biggest danger. Don’t go all-in at once and panic-sell when you see a 30% drop. Invest small amounts weekly/monthly. Matt Hougan (Bitwise) also says: “DCA eliminates behavioral risk.”
2. Wait for bottom signals
• If Fear & Greed stays below 10 for a long time and then starts to turn upward
• If BTC’s realized price is broken and held
• If leverage cleaning is done and funding rate turns negative
• If comments on Trump tariff news indicate “limited impact”
Currently, (February 23, 2026), we are in that “late bear” phase – similar to late 2022.
3. Portfolio allocation
If you’re new: allocate 2-5% of your total assets to crypto (average investor level). Start with BTC, then rotate into ETH + selected altcoins.
4. Special note for Turkey
The USD/TRY is already soaring; if tariffs + global risk-off continue, import costs will rise → crypto might feel even “more expensive” in TRY terms. But long-term, it provides protection in USD terms. Think about it during a coffee break in Izmir: if this dip scares you, you’re on the right track.
In short: The best time passed yesterday, the second-best time begins today – but without rushing or panicking.
