Abstract generation in progress

Five Georgia cities have filed a class action lawsuit against 3M Company, alleging that the company knowingly contaminated the state’s water supply with “forever chemicals” (PFAS). The lawsuit claims 3M manufactured these chemicals and was aware of their dangers and persistence in the environment for decades before agreeing to phase them out under EPA pressure. The cities are seeking declaratory and injunctive relief, as well as statutory and punitive damages for themselves and other governmental entities whose wastewater treatment facilities have been contaminated.
