Li Qiang presided over the State Council executive meeting to study and promote work related to the silver economy and elderly care services. The meeting pointed out that China’s silver economy has great potential. We need to improve support measures, strengthen policy implementation, and promote the development of elderly care and the elderly industry to provide strong support for addressing population aging. We should further release the demand for silver consumption, enhance consumption capacity, and leverage policies such as consumption subsidies to create new scenarios and new formats for silver consumption. We should promote high-quality and expanded supply of inclusive elderly care services, improve a tiered, categorized, accessible, urban-rural covering, and sustainable elderly care service system, and better ensure support for the elderly. We must strengthen safety management in elderly care institutions, promptly identify and resolve risks, and crack down on false advertising, illegal fundraising, and elderly scams to effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of the elderly.
The meeting also made arrangements for the government’s work after the Spring Festival holiday. It pointed out that this year marks the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan. All departments of the State Council should further enhance their sense of responsibility and urgency, focus on annual goals, quickly get into work mode, and ensure the implementation of the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee. Especially, they should establish and practice correct performance views, adhere to practical work, follow rules, consciously deliver results for the people, and achieve tangible results through hard work. Focus on implementing key tasks, organize efforts quickly according to responsibilities, conduct in-depth research and promote work, and ensure real results. Use innovative ideas to optimize management and services, support localities and enterprises in actively exploring new growth points, visit frontline to understand enterprise demands and public concerns, and introduce more targeted policies and measures to continuously stimulate market vitality and improve people’s well-being.
