It sounds like a a stock analyst would say a sticky growth story. Can you grow this business at an 80% clip every quarter this year? and if not, how do you keep this growth rate going? What do you have in the on the product road map?

00:10 Chris

Well, I think 80% growth every quarter might be a a tad aggressive, but we definitely do think uh we’re going to be growing it. Uh you know, last year we grew our distribution in hobby stores, what we call our Wizards Play Network by over 20%.

00:27 Chris

We grew uh the number of doors and number of slots we have in mass by well over 20%. We grew our overall number of players who participate in our organized play by nearly 25% and we meaningfully grew the player base.

00:41 Chris

And you know, I think we’re seeing that momentum continue. And what’s nice about that is as you add more places to buy, make it easier to buy, use great IP crossovers like we had last year with Final Fantasy and Avatar the Last Bender, Airbender, and that we have this year with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Hobbit, Marvel Superheroes and Star Trek, you just see this flywheel start to build, momentum start to build.

01:07 Chris

So, we see a nice growth path for the next three quarters. You know, we might have a tough comp in Q4 just given the the heady growth we had last year. But overall, we’re pretty confident in Magic’s growth prospects this year and over the mid and long term.

01:21 Speaker A

Chris, you can tell me if I’m wrong here, but I’m just going to characterize what’s going on at Hasbro like this. I mean, it feels like you’re entering some form of holy grail moment. You have the digital gaming growing very strong. You’ve cut a lot of expenses out of the business, margins are are growing in that business. And this year, now you have four what, four giant Disney movies coming to market that might support your consumer products business?

01:43 Chris

Yeah, yeah, I mean, we have a stacked set of IP and entertainment coming down the pike to support our business. You know, from Walt Disney, which is our biggest and longest lasting partner. We’ve been in business with them since 1954.

01:55 Chris

We start the year with Toy Story 5. We then roll into Star Wars Mandalorian and Grogu. Uh we go into Spider-Man Brand New Day, and then we end the year with a bang with uh a new Avengers movie, Doomsday.

02:11 Chris

And then you add on top of that a couple new partners that we’ve added to the mix this year. We’ll have Street Fighter with Legendary entertainment in the summer. and then we’re going to end the year with one of your favorites, Voltron from Amazon MGM, uh which should be some fantastic collectibles and toys.
