Stellantis has issued a “Do Not Drive” warning for approximately 225,000 older U.S. vehicles equipped with defective Takata air bag inflators, urging owners to repair them immediately. The warning applies to various Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Mitsubishi models from 2003-2016, a critical measure to prevent serious injury or death from exploding airbags. This follows a long history of Takata airbag-related injuries and deaths, with Stellantis highlighting that unaddressed minor crashes can trigger life-threatening incidents.
