On June 4th, PANews reported that IOTA EVM mainnet has been launched, which is a Layer 2 solution that is fully compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) on the IOTA network. Since its initial release on Shimmer in September 2023, IOTA EVM has undergone extensive improvements, testing, and auditing. This version introduces features such as smart contracts, cross-chain interaction, parallel processing, and enhanced Miner Extractable Value (MEV) security. Users can connect through MetaMask and explore the network using the Firefly wallet. IOTA EVM will focus on the RWA direction, and its partners include LayerZero, Stargate Finance, Pyth Network, and Supra.
