So I've been diving into web3 games lately and honestly there's way more variety than people think. It's not just play-to-earn grind anymore - these are actually fun to play. Like, there's everything from MMORPGs to battle royales to card games that remind you of Magic: The Gathering. Pretty wild how the space has evolved.

Ragnarok Landverse is solid if you're into MMOs. It's got that classic Ragnarok Online vibe with the guild wars and community stuff, but now you can own land as NFTs and build houses. The enchantment system is pretty cool too. Then there's Mighty Action Heroes which is just chaotic fun - fast-paced battle royale where you collect heroes and gear them up. I played the beta and it's actually addictive, works on mobile and browser.

Anito Legends caught my attention because it uses Filipino folklore characters which is a fresh take. Auto-battler style gameplay, kinda reminds me of Axie but different enough. And speaking of Axie, the Origins version has over 1.5 million installs now. They added this AXP system where you can level up your axies through arena battles. The free starter axies make it way more accessible than before.

Pixelmon is interesting because it's going full IP ownership model - holders of their NFTs actually own rights to portions of characters and items. Still in development but they already launched Kevin the Adventurer as a hypercasual game. PROJECT XENO is huge in Japan, launched earlier this year. You pick different XENO classes and combine them strategically. Free to play but you can buy stronger NFT versions if you want.

Parallel is this sci-fi trading card game where five factions are fighting over Earth. You build decks and battle opponents, and you actually own your cards and items. Then there's MetaCene, which is this cyberpunk MMORPG set in a post-apocalyptic world. It's been running alpha tests and they're pretty ambitious about building a mainstream web3 gaming experience.

Honestly the web3 games space has come a long way. It's less about making money and more about actual gameplay now. If you're curious about what next-gen gaming looks like, these are worth checking out. Have you tried any of these yet?
