In 2014, rapper 50 Cent accepted Bitcoin (BTC) as payment for the digital sales of his album “Animal Ambition.” According to TMZ, he received 700 BTC at the time, worth approximately $463,400. However, according to his bankruptcy filing, all cryptocurrency proceeds were converted into USD before reaching him, and neither he nor his company ever officially held these BTC. Although this move made him the first rapper to sell music for cryptocurrency, he missed out on substantial gains; if he had held these BTC, their value would have reached $82.25 million when BTC hit its peak of $126,080 in October 2025. Currently, BTC faces resistance around $93,000, and analysis firms like Grayscale and Bernstein predict that BTC will reach new cycle highs in 2026, potentially exceeding $150,000.
