Gate News Report, March 6 — President Trump said in an interview on Thursday that he needs to be personally involved in selecting Iran’s next leader, similar to how he did in Venezuela. Trump acknowledged that the son of the assassinated Supreme Leader Khamenei, Mojtaba Khamenei, is the most likely successor, but he also made it clear that he considers this outcome unacceptable.
The Iranian regime has delayed announcing the successor to the Supreme Leader for several days, but statements from Iranian officials on Thursday hinted that a decision may be imminent. Trump stated, “They are wasting time. Khamenei’s son is insignificant. I have to be involved in the appointment process, just like I handled Delsi Rodriguez in Venezuela.” He added that he refuses to accept any new Iranian leader who continues Khamenei’s policies, which would force the U.S. to “restart the war within five years.”
