Binance today (3/6) updated token labels, adding dogwifhat (WIF), Loopring (LRC), Hooked Protocol (HOOK), and six other tokens to the Watch list. At the same time, Ondo (ONDO) and Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) were removed from the Seed list.
(Background: Binance’s delisting announcement is considered positive news for the tokens, with $ALPACA surging 650% against the trend, overwhelming short sellers.)
(Additional context: Binance announced the removal of 30 trading pairs. CZ Peng: “This is to strengthen liquidity, not delist.”)
On March 6, Binance announced adjustments to platform tags for multiple tokens. The biggest change was adding nine tokens to the Watch list, removing one token from the Watch list, and removing two tokens from the Seed list.
New Watch list tokens (9): Contentos (COS), Dego Finance (DEGO), Ampleforth Governance Token (FORTH), FUNToken (FUN), Hooked Protocol (HOOK), Loopring (LRC), MOBOX (MBOX), Orchid (OXT), dogwifhat (WIF).
Removed from Watch list (1): Flow (FLOW). This is good news for FLOW holders, indicating Binance considers it has met listing standards again. Deposits and withdrawals are now open.
Removed from Seed list (2): Ondo (ONDO), Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL). Being removed from the Seed list indicates these two tokens have passed Binance’s liquidity and compliance review.
The most notable change is that dogwifhat (WIF) has been added to the Watch list.
WIF is one of the most well-known Solana meme coins in this cycle, reaching nearly $5 in 2024, but has recently shown weak performance. Being placed on the Watch list suggests Binance believes it no longer meets the original listing standards and may be delisted in the future.
