According to data from Nexus, the total value of real-world assets (RWA) tokenized on the market has reached approximately $24.9 billion, nearly quadrupling over the past year, demonstrating the rapid growth of this sector within the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
During this recent growth phase, U.S. Treasury bonds and commodities were the two largest contributing asset groups, accounting for about 58% of the overall market growth. However, the proportion of U.S. Treasury bonds in the total RWA value has decreased significantly, from 59% to 43%.
This shift reflects a clear trend toward diversification in the RWA market. Instead of primarily focusing on U.S. government bonds as before, projects are expanding into various other asset types such as commodities, private credit, and traditional financial instruments.
This development indicates that asset tokenization is entering a new phase of growth, with increasingly diverse applications and asset structures.
