Brevis launches Brevis Vera: ZK system verifies the authenticity of images and videos

TapChiBitcoin

Brevis has launched Brevis Vera, a content authenticity verification system that helps verify images and videos created from genuine devices and only subjected to legitimate edits. The system uses zero-knowledge (ZK) technology to maintain cryptographic proof of the origin and editing process of media files.

Brevis Vera combines hardware-based video signatures following the C2PA standard with ZK proofs generated by Brevis Pico zkVM, allowing step-by-step verification of edits without revealing sensitive data. As a result, published content can be traced back from recording to editing and publishing.

This solution aims to reduce misinformation, deepfakes, and manipulated content. Brevis Vera is now deployed and supports open-source libraries for developers to integrate into their content systems.
