Trump calls for priority passage of voter ID laws; crypto regulation bills may face delays

Gate News reports that on March 10th, U.S. President Donald Trump stated at the Florida Republican Conference that he will refuse to sign any other legislation until the “SAVE America Act” is approved by Congress. The bill addresses voter identification, citizen proof of identity, and restrictions on mail-in ballots.

This stance may impact the progress of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a cryptocurrency regulation bill currently being negotiated by the Senate Banking Committee, after previously being approved by the Senate Agriculture Committee.

Since early last year, Trump has been calling for improvements to the cryptocurrency regulatory framework and has made it a priority for the White House. However, he currently insists that voter identification legislation remains the top priority, claiming it is key to ensuring Republican victories in the midterm elections and beyond.

Prediction market Polymarket data shows an 85% probability that the Republicans will lose their majority in the House of Representatives.
