White House: Trump does not rule out deploying ground troops in Iran war

Gate News Report, March 10 — White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Tuesday that President Trump “does not rule out” various options in a potential war with Iran, including deploying U.S. ground troops to Iran. Jean-Pierre stated, “As for the deployment of ground forces, the President has spoken about this multiple times. As Commander-in-Chief, he wisely has not ruled out any options. Therefore, I reiterate that I am cautious about any current statements from Democrats on Capitol Hill regarding the President’s intentions.” Her remarks appeared to respond to comments made earlier today by Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal on Capitol Hill. After a briefing on Iran, Blumenthal said, “It seems we are heading down a path toward deploying U.S. ground forces to Iran to achieve any potential objectives.”
