Crypto World News: On March 11, U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright mistakenly posted and then deleted a message on social media claiming that the U.S. Navy had escorted a tanker through the Strait of Hormuz. The message initially caused significant market volatility, with international oil prices plunging nearly 20% in the short term, and U.S. WTI crude oil prices dropping below $77 per barrel. Subsequently, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt clarified that the U.S. Navy has not yet escorted any tankers or ships through the strait, but the military is exploring various options, including naval escort, to respond to potential Iranian shipping restrictions. On the same day, President Donald Trump posted on social media that the U.S. has not received reports of Iran laying mines in the strait but urged Iran to remove any explosive devices that may be deployed, stating that U.S. forces have destroyed 10 “inactive mine-laying vessels.” The Middle East conflict has now entered its 11th day. Pete Hegseth stated that the U.S. and Israel are continuing strikes against Iranian targets and will keep acting until the opponent is defeated. Meanwhile, about 150 U.S. soldiers have been injured in the conflict. The ongoing conflict has disrupted energy transportation in the Persian Gulf, with Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, and Kuwait showing signs of production cuts, and market concerns over global energy supply continue to rise.
