a16z Partner: AI code generation will replace spreadsheets, and 1 billion knowledge workers may migrate to software applications

Gate News: On March 11, a16z partner Andrew Chen posted that AI code generation technology will fundamentally replace spreadsheets. He pointed out that spreadsheets are essentially “business logic trapped in a grid,” lacking software engineering features such as version control, testing, and modularity. Approximately one billion spreadsheet users worldwide are expected to migrate to real software applications, ushering in a new era for knowledge workers’ software development capabilities.
