Gate News message, April 6, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, condemned U.S. threats against Iranian infrastructure as “war crimes,” and warned that any country assisting Washington would bear legal responsibility. Baghaei said, “Without a doubt, merely issuing such threats in itself constitutes war crimes.” He pointed out that the United States, on the one hand, talks about striking “energy and industrial infrastructure,” while on the other hand giving Israel a “green light to attack civilian targets.” He emphasized that these actions, under international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, constitute war crimes. Baghaei further warned, “All countries should understand that any conduct that provides cooperation and assistance in the course of the U.S. carrying out its crimes must be held accountable and should be recognized as war crimes and crimes against humanity.”
