The U.S. Department of Justice has officially released an indictment against Iurii Gugnin (aka Iurii Mashukov and George Goognin), a Russian citizen of New York. According to the indictment, Gugnin, through the crypto payment company Evita he founded, transferred more than $530 million (mainly USDT) from abroad to the U.S. financial system between June 2023 and January 2025. The indictment lists 22 charges, including defrauding banks and cryptocurrency exchanges, violations of sanctions and export controls, money laundering, failure to file suspicious transaction reports under the Bank Secrecy Act, and false reporting of remittance business information.

American investor and former pharmaceutical company executive Martin Shkreli has requested the dismissal of the lawsuit filed against him by Non-fungible Token platform PleasrDAO in the Brooklyn federal court. The lawsuit involves the ownership of an album from the legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. Shkreli stated that this lawsuit is "subject to the priority treatment of the Copyright Act." If the trial continues, he hopes that two members of Wu-Tang Clan, Robert Diggs (aka RZA) and Tarik Azzougarh (aka Cilvaringz), will also participate in the legal proceedings because they jointly own this album. Shkreli originally purchased the album for $2 million at a private auction in 2015. According to the terms of the contract, this album will remain with him until 2103.

PANews reported on April 28 that OPCAT (aka BIP-420) will be launched next Tuesday (Signet Block Height 193,536) on Bitcoin's official testnet "SIGNET". The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said it had served the indictment at the home of HEX founder Richard Schueler (aka Richard Heart) in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. In a Dec. 11 filing in New York District Court, the SEC said the commission served the indictment on Richard Schueler Oct. 31 with alternative service. In the nearly seven weeks that began on Sept. 13, the subpoenas said they had made several unsuccessful attempts to serve the subpoena in person on Heart by phone, text message, letter, and in person at their residence in Helsinki. The SEC sued Heart in July, alleging that he made more than $1 billion from the sale of Hex, PulseChain (PLS) and PulseX (PSLX), which the SEC claims are unregistered securities. It also claimed that Heart had defrauded U.S. and overseas investors of at least $12 million in money to buy "555-carat BCD, expensive watches, and high-end cars." In a status report filed with the court in early November, the S.E.C. said it had not been able to locate Heart to serve the lawsuit since Aug. 22, despite knowing that he was somewhere in Helsinki.
