The Bitcoin white paper was published on October 31, 2008. Satoshi Nakamoto released the white paper titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" on the P2P Foundation website and in the cryptography mailing list.
The Bitcoin network officially launched on January 3, 2009, when Satoshi Nakamoto mined the first block, known as the genesis block, marking the birth of Bitcoin.
