This means that this long-anticipated legislative project has officially entered a decisive window.
The bill was first formally introduced to the U.S. House of Representatives on May 29, 2025, by Chairman Patrick McHenry of the House Financial Services Committee and Chairman French Hill of the Digital Assets and Innovation Subcommittee. It was passed by the House with an overwhelming majority (294 votes in favor) on July 17 and is currently awaiting final review by the Senate.
