#大户持仓变化 # Looking back five years, what should I invest 1 million in to get the fastest turnaround?

Many say that trading stocks isn't as good as trading cryptocurrencies, but when you really look at the data, how big is the gap? Let's take a look at this five-year period.

**Performance of Crypto Assets**

If five years ago you invested 1 million in Bitcoin (BTC), you would now hold approximately 12 to 15 million. If you switched to Ethereum (ETH), the gains are even more impressive — reaching 18 to 22 million. This demonstrates the power of the core assets in the crypto market.

Compared to tech stocks, Nvidia (NVDA) has also performed well over these five years, turning 1 million into 6 to 8 million. But Apple (AAPL) has been relatively moderate, increasing to 3.5 to 4.5 million. Tesla (TSLA), while popular, has yielded about 2.5 to 3.5 million. Tracking the Nasdaq 100 index, 1 million would have grown to 2.8 to 3.2 million.

**Doublers in the A-Share Market**

The A-share market also has its dark horses. Cambrian (寒武纪) stands out, with 1 million growing to 10 million. Leading communication device companies like Zhongji Xuchuang (中际旭创), XinYisheng (新易盛), and Huatian Electric (沪电股份) saw their gains between 7 and 9 times. The lithium sector, with Tianqi Lithium (天齐锂业) and Ganfeng Lithium (赣锋锂业), experienced some correction later, but over five years, returns were still around 4.5 to 5.5 times.

However, if five years ago you bought the previous cycle's "core assets" — stocks like China Merchants Bank (招商银行), Kweichow Moutai (茅台), Hikvision (海康威视), and Hengrui Medicine (恒瑞医药) — now they are mostly at a loss. An initial 1 million investment in these would now be around 940,000 at best, with some as low as 170,000.

**The Two Extremes of Hong Kong Stocks**

Pop Mart's story is the most explosive — 1 million grew to 2.5 to 4 million. But Tencent Holdings (腾讯控股) was much more modest, around 900,000 to 1.2 million. Alibaba (阿里巴巴) and Meituan (美团) have both performed poorly in the past two years, now only worth 600,000 to 800,000 and 500,000 to 700,000 respectively.

After reviewing these figures, you'll realize — five years can truly change a person's asset allocation. The key still lies in the choices made at the time.

Wow, five years ago I went all in on ETH and just relaxed, and now I'm still here working 996. Honestly, I'm exhausted.

Wow, this data is incredible. Five years ago, going all-in on ETH would have been a guaranteed win now, and you still need to catch up with those guys who got trapped in Moutai and China Merchants Bank investments...

People in the crypto world all say this, but when you actually step into a pit, it's too late to regret.

Damn, looking at this data makes my eyes dizzy. Five years ago, going all in on ETH could really make you rich now. Why do I feel like I only bought heavyweight stocks and trash?
