The Senate Banking Committee has decided to postpone the legislative approval session related to restructuring the cryptocurrency market until early 2026, thereby confirming that 2025 will pass without any decisive legislative breakthrough in the digital assets regulation file, which consolidates the state of ambiguity dominating the sector within the United States.
This decision came after consultations between the Democratic and Republican parties, amid a tight legislative agenda as Congress enters its final days of the year and approaches the parliamentary holiday, which prevented the bill from being scheduled before the end of 2025.
According to the new timeline, discussions on the market restructuring legislation are expected to resume early next year, amid anticipation from industry players for the possible release of the latest consensus draft before the holiday begins.
