There's something genuinely satisfying about holding your own private keys. No intermediaries, no counterparty risk, just you in full control of your crypto assets. That's the whole point of decentralization, right? When you self-custody, you're not trusting anyone else with your wealth—you're trusting the math, the blockchain, and your own security practices. Sure, it requires more responsibility and diligence, but that's the trade-off for true ownership. Once you've experienced the peace of mind that comes with self-custody, going back to centralized platforms just feels... wrong. Your keys, your coins. Your coins, your rules.

Managing your own keys is incredibly satisfying, but the real worry is accidentally losing the keys—that's truly nerve-wracking.

The words are correct, but I just tm am too lazy to manage private keys. Isn't it better to leave them on the exchange? --- Self-custody sounds great, but if you lose your mnemonic phrase, you're done. Who bears this risk? --- "Your coins, your rules," but my rule is to be too lazy to fuss, and I accept some centralized convenience. --- People who constantly recite self-custody private keys have never been hacked. Once they are hacked, they'll know what regret really is. --- I just want to ask, how many people truly use self-custody daily, not just talk about it? --- Anyway, the funds in my public chain wallet are all in amounts that won't be lost. The exchange is the main holding. --- This logic isn't wrong, but everyone makes operational mistakes sometimes. When that happens, there's nowhere to cry.

I finally really get that feeling—managing your own keys is truly addictive. That's right, controlling your private keys is what real financial freedom is all about... I can never go back to centralized platforms. Self-management is indeed troublesome, but the cost is worth it because this is the true Web3. The prerequisite is not to lose your keys... otherwise, you'll be crying before you know it. By the way, what's your key security management plan? Cold wallet or something else? When it comes to self-custody, you really need to do your homework; not everyone can handle it.

Having control over your keys is great, but I'm worried that one day I might forget the password in a moment of stupidity... that would be a real nightmare.
