On December 16th, a clear institutional buying wave appeared in the global cryptocurrency ETF market. On that day, institutional funds net purchased $4.49 billion, reflecting the true attitude of traditional financial institutions towards the current market.

Looking at specific coins, ETH attracted the most institutional attention with a net buy of $2.65 billion; BTC followed closely with a net buy of $1.81 billion; although SOL has a relatively smaller market cap, it also received a net buy of $20.88 million.

What’s more noteworthy is the cumulative performance over the past two days — institutions have bought a total of $12.88 billion. This concentrated buying activity occurred precisely during a market decline. From a traditional investment perspective, this usually indicates that large institutions are taking advantage of price corrections to position themselves, and their actions often precede market rebounds. After experiencing volatility, this wave of institutional activity could serve as an important reference signal.
