Leading mining company Canaan Creative's board of directors recently approved a significant buyback plan. According to the announcement, over the next 12 months starting from December 12, 2025, the company will be able to repurchase up to $30 million worth of American Depositary Shares or Class A common stock.

How will this buyback be executed? The company stated that it will be carried out flexibly through various methods such as open market transactions or private negotiations, with funds directly drawn from existing cash reserves, requiring no additional financing. This indicates that the company remains confident in its cash flow — after all, in the crypto mining industry, which is highly dependent on external factors, being able to allocate this amount for a buyback truly reflects an optimistic outlook for the future.

Share repurchases are generally viewed by investors as a positive signal, as they can increase earnings per share for existing shareholders and also demonstrate management’s support for the stock price. In the current volatile market for digital assets like Bitcoin, such actions often attract market attention.

ngl the $30m buyback timing feels interesting—they're basically locking in conviction right before the volatility hits. the real question tho: are they actually confident in btc's trajectory or just managing dilution? either way, burning $30m from reserves instead of reinvesting in hash rate is a choice...

Canaan's recent buyback seems quite confident, with $30 million coming from cash reserves, indicating that the mining machine business is still profitable.

Is the cash flow so sufficient? It seems they have a good idea about this wave of Bitcoin's market.

$30M buyback from reserves? *technically speaking*, that's just financial engineering to boost EPS metrics—not actual operational alpha. show me the hashrate improvements or it's just accounting theater. ✌️

It's quite interesting that mining companies are buying back their own stocks with real money. This is still a relatively rare move in the crypto world. However, I have to admit, it seems more like endorsing their own value.

Canaan is telling a story to retail investors, or do they really have such a positive outlook on the market?
