🇧🇹 Bhutan allocates 10,000 Bitcoin for the development of the Meditation City
Bhutan will use 10,000 Bitcoin from its sovereign digital assets to contribute to funding the development of Gilevo Meditation City. This commitment, estimated at one billion US dollars in Bitcoin, represents one of the largest sovereign digital asset commitments in infrastructure development worldwide.
This move solidifies Bitcoin's position as a strategic national asset for economic development, rather than a tool for speculation.
His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck emphasized the need for every Bhutanese citizen to be responsible for Gilevo Meditation City, to contribute to it, and to benefit from it, highlighting the kingdom's commitment to its people, youth, and homeland.
