Watching the once hotly discussed public chains like Linea, Mode, Taiko, OP, Sonic, Aptos, Celo, Scroll, Zk, Fuel, Soneium, Metis, Fantom, Harmony gradually fade, and seeing those projects that once enjoyed fame also decline, inevitably makes people ponder a question: Does this ecosystem really need so many public chains?

Rather than building new chains everywhere, it’s better to focus on creating super Dapps. Perhaps in the future Web3, there won’t be a need for so much underlying infrastructure. The projects that will truly survive are those that can deliver real value to users. Functionality, user experience, and ecosystem completeness are the key factors for success. The prosperity of public chains doesn’t depend on quantity, but on whether they can support a truly vibrant ecosystem.
