Do we still need to save money in the AI era? See how Silicon Valley giants and Wall Street legends converse

【CryptoWorld】The U.S. President introduced a new Child Investment Account mechanism in the “Work and Family Tax Relief Act” launched in 2025. This policy aims to provide a long-term wealth accumulation channel for American children and has recently sparked interesting debates in the business community.

Bridgewater founder Ray Dalio joined this wave of philanthropy, announcing a $250 matching donation per child in Connecticut. Prior to him, Michael and his wife had already donated $250 for each child under 10 through this new account system. These actions by industry giants seem to be paving the way for the next generation, but Elon Musk offered a different perspective.

In response to these donation initiatives, Musk acknowledged that they are certainly well-intentioned but raised a bigger question: if future AI and robotics become sufficiently advanced and humans no longer need to work, is it still necessary to save money for children? This tech visionary has been advocating the concept of “Universal High Income”—believing that artificial intelligence will fundamentally change economic models, making traditional savings and investments irrelevant.

The clash of two mindsets is quite fascinating: on one side, Wall Street elites carefully designing wealth growth tools for children; on the other, Silicon Valley leaders depicting a post-AI era—where money itself may no longer be the main concern. This dialogue perhaps reflects not just policy disagreements but also a fundamental difference in imagination about the future economic structure of humanity.

musk really just casually breaks the whole premise mid-conversation lol... like yeah dalio's doing charity but elon's basically saying "why even bother if robots handle everything" 💀 the absolute state of wealth redistribution in 2025

I'm impressed by Musk's logic, really. But on the other hand, if AI is truly that powerful, then the meaning of saving money now really needs to be redefined.

Elon Musk is just the guy who loves to stir up trouble... Is it true that once AI takes off, there's no need to work anymore? I feel like he's just making excuses for not saving money himself.

Elon Musk's words are truly brilliant... Save money, save money, if AI really takes off, who still cares about that little bit of money --- Universal high income? First, keep your current job, everyone --- Regarding Dalio and Dell donating money, it's indeed a kind act, but Musk's "question" really hits the mark --- By the way, if AI can really eliminate all jobs, a children's account with 250 yuan is not a risk at all... it's a complete rewrite of life plans --- That's the joy and worry of the wealthy; we're still worried about next month's rent --- Wait, can the premise of "no longer needing to work" really hold? Will capitalists allow such a thing to happen? Overthinking it --- On how to elegantly question the future of humanity... Musk really has a knack --- 250 yuan... is this saving or giving alms? I'm a bit confused --- No job = no income... but they are actually more anxious to save money for their children, this logic is quite interesting

Elon Musk's words are really hard to believe; the idea of everyone having high income sounds like a fairy tale... But on the other hand, if AI is really that powerful, saving money now would just be a joke.

Elon Musk's logic is a bit extreme, but I feel he's not entirely wrong... If AGI really arrives, what's the point of saving money anymore? --- Universal high income sounds great, but the question is, how long will it take to achieve? We have to survive until that day. --- Dariio and Dail are at least still considering reality, Elon Musk's imagination is truly unmatched haha. --- I just want to know, if that day really comes, what will happen to the money we've saved? --- Instead of worrying about whether to save or not, it's better to figure out how UBI will be implemented... Just shouting slogans won't do, brother. --- It's interesting that the big shots each have their own opinions, while the common people still have to work 996 as usual. --- AI arrives and jobs are lost, but what about mortgage payments? Elon Musk hasn't thought this through.

Elon Musk really dares to say that, but it sounds a bit hollow... High income for everyone? Who would believe that... Saving money is still necessary, no matter how powerful AI becomes, there are times when it underperforms. What’s the point of Dalio and others donating money? Don’t they just think money needs to be spent? Musk is just making sarcastic remarks. By the way, $250 is way too little, like giving pocket change to a beggar... Relying on AI to make a living? I doubt it.
