Recently, an interesting scene was observed on the blockchain— a top whale address sold over 20,000 ETH within two days, at an average price of $2,869, totaling $59.1 million.

This isn't just a simple profit-taking move; it's a classic example of "deleveraging" for self-rescue. This major holder previously collateralized 30,000 ETH (about $85.2 million) on Aave, borrowed funds to continue increasing their position, following a typical long leverage strategy. Now, with debt remaining at $15.7 million, they decided to sell some tokens to reduce risk exposure.

In plain terms, it's about decisively cutting losses during volatility rather than stubbornly holding on.

This case teaches us a harsh truth: leverage is a double-edged sword that amplifies both gains and risks. The issue isn't whether your judgment is right or wrong, but rather your position management and timing of exits. You might be right a hundred times, but one deadly fluctuation can wipe out your entire account.

In this market, survival is always more valuable than short-term gains. Staying rational amid the waves, adjusting your positions in time—this is the key to long-term survival.

This whale is still smart; stopping the bleeding in time is much better than stubbornly holding on.

A hundred times of holding on can't compare to one liquidation; this guy has finally realized it.
