Damn, finally someone explained this thoroughly. I was also scared by cross-chain before, but now using Stargate is smooth as hell. Stargate really changes the game; transferring from BNB to Solana is just like a regular transfer. No weird fees, no delays, just awesome. It should have been like this all along; cross-chain transfers shouldn't be a big deal, just a simple transfer. Is this really true? The last time I used Stargate to transfer from BNB to Sol, I was actually overcharged by dozens of dollars, and I was speechless. Stargate is indeed smooth, but the gas fee really depends on luck; not all times are so seamless. The high efficiency of cross-chain switching is great, but you have to keep an eye on the market every time, which is quite troublesome. Not all cross-chain transfers are as perfect as the author claims; my experience hasn't been that smooth. Stargate is fine, but the real test is whether there is enough liquidity under extreme market conditions. This seamless experience sounds wonderful, but in actual use, you'll still encounter pitfalls. It's easy to say, but a slight delay in the arbitrage window can lead to losses, and fast cross-chain transfers are pointless if they don't work in time.
