Perpetual Contracts Welcome New Players: Synthetix Launches Hybrid CLOB DEX on Ethereum with Up to 50x Leverage

Abstract generation in progress

【Blockchain Rhythm】Synthetix has launched a perpetual contract DEX on the Ethereum mainnet. This update adopts an interesting hybrid approach—on-chain asset custody combined with off-chain matching (CLOB mode). The benefits of this approach are obvious, as it can bypass the latency issues and high Gas costs inherent to the Ethereum mainnet.

The new platform initially supports perpetual contract trading for the three major tokens: BTC, ETH, and SOL, with leverage up to 50x. Future plans include adding multi-collateral margin systems, RWA asset support, and incentive programs, aiming to create a new wave in the DeFi derivatives space.

Liquidity is managed by the SLP Vault to ensure trading depth. Synthetix’s goal is clear—to become the first truly operational CLOB perpetual trading platform on the Ethereum mainnet. From the perspective of the hybrid architecture design, this indeed demonstrates a practical solution to address the performance constraints of the mainnet.

50x leverage sounds great, but have you really saved on the gas fees...

50x leverage? Isn't this just giving away money? The liquidation countdown has started.

50x leverage, isn't this just a paradise for gamblers? --- I like the idea of the hybrid CLOB; finally, someone is seriously trying to solve the Gas fee pain point. --- Again RWA and multi-collateralization, Synthetix is really stacking features... but running smoothly is the key. --- Just BTC, ETH, and SOL? DeFi derivatives need to include a few more mainstream tokens. --- On-chain custody with off-chain matching, in simple terms, trying to find a balance between security and speed. This approach is good. --- A 50x leverage with a single dip and it's liquidated immediately. Is Synthetix trying to wipe out retail investors? Haha. --- Can SLP Vault market making work? Seems like it still depends on whether real trading volume picks up. --- The first truly operational mainnet on Ethereum? What about those previous projects? They were a bit overhyped. --- More and more solutions are bypassing Gas costs; the mainnet definitely needs improvements. --- If this wave succeeds, the derivatives sector will be competitive again.

50x leverage? Are you trying to make us go all-in haha Skipping the Gas fee is indeed satisfying, but I'm worried about slippage issues coming back again

50x leverage? Bro, you're really risking it all. One slippage and you're liquidated. --- I've heard of this off-chain matching trick quite a few times before, but the key is whether they will run away. --- Finally, someone is seriously working on CLOB. Betting that Synthetix can survive this bull and bear cycle. --- Saving on Gas is good, but I still feel a bit uneasy about centralized matching... --- BTC ETH SOL are the only three? Why not add DOGE haha. --- The hybrid approach sounds good, but can it work? Most of these Ethereum projects are pretty hyped up.
