The story of DeSci sounds quite exciting—scientific research on the blockchain, democratization of science, IP tokenization, and even giving back to research institutions. But why has this track remained lukewarm?

The reality is clear: few projects, sluggish trading volume, and the token prices struggling to break out of a decent trend.

Where is the real problem? It’s not technical barriers, but two unavoidable practical issues. The first is the single business model. DeSci projects generally lack a clear monetization path; from fundraising to application implementation, the commercial closed-loop has yet to be established.

The second is the compliance dilemma. Tokenizing scientific assets involves complex legal definitions, with significant policy differences across regions, making it difficult for project teams to find a viable compliant route. If these two core issues are not addressed, no matter how good the narrative, DeSci will only remain a concept hype. To truly activate this track, we must start with business model innovation and compliance breakthroughs.
