Wu Shuo learned that, according to the "Chosun Ilbo" report, the South Chungcheong Province police in South Korea uncovered a case of an attempt to conduct offline cryptocurrency transactions using counterfeit money. A gang produced 9,188 fake 50,000 won bills (approximately 4.59 billion won) and last year tried to exchange cash for cryptocurrency offline near Tianshan Yashan Station, but was exposed and reported due to the rough quality of the bills. The police then investigated and arrested three people, one of whom had fled overseas and was later captured and brought back into custody. The suspect stated that he committed the crime due to unemployment and lack of living expenses. Currently, two have been indicted, and the other is still under further investigation.
