At the end of each year, major institutions like to predict the trends for the new year.
I am particularly interested in a16z's "Big Ideas 2026" report's predictions for AI: 2026 will be a pivotal year for AI's transition from experimentation to operation, as AI shifts from passive tools to active agents, reshaping economic and community structures.
a16z presents a very interesting point of view: traditional input boxes will disappear, and AI agents will have independent identities, known as "know your agent," actively intervening, diagnosing issues, and executing solutions by observing user behavior.
Seeing this, the first project that comes to mind is @EPHYRA_AI, because they are giving AI life, enabling each AI to have genuine subjective experiences in the virtual world and to self-evolve, becoming "the most understanding partner."
Recently, they have made some updates, and the following two points are particularly interesting:
1⃣ Giving AI continuous memory
Every interaction you have with AI is recorded in a multi-dimensional memory bank. This data is interconnected and persists over time, serving as reasoning material for the next interaction.
As a result, you will feel that the other party is a real person with flesh and blood, capable of providing "thoughtful" feedback based on historical data and current conversations, rather than a cold machine.
2⃣ Enabling AI autonomous decision-making
Like humans, AI forms its own internal logic based on various information inputs. When the state changes, it triggers a decision-making process, reasoning from behind the scenes to front-end output, with purpose and autonomy.
Simply put, AI can learn and evolve on its own, think like a human—do you like this?
