Condor Resources Inc. has substantially scaled up its exploration footprint in Peru, securing additional concessions that have tripled the Huiñac Punta property from 2,000 to 7,200 hectares. The expansion adds 5,200 hectares of prospective ground through uncontested application, positioning the company to pursue what management describes as a district-scale silver and polymetallic discovery opportunity.
The enlarged Huiñac Punta project sits in Huanuco, Peru, and targets a carbonate replacement deposit (CRD) system with potential for bulk tonnage silver and base metals mineralization. Field sampling provides tangible evidence of the deposit’s grade potential: of 163 two-metre rock chip samples, 28 exceeded 100 g/t silver, with two samples returning bonanza-grade results of 4,115 and 3,225 g/t Ag respectively. Associated mineralization includes copper, zinc, lead, and cobalt in elevated concentrations.
Historical mining activity dating to Spanish colonial times underscores the district’s exploration pedigree. Several accessible historical adits reveal disseminated grey and black breccia-hosted sulfides—including sphalerite, galena, chalcocite, bornite, and covellite—consistent with high silver values observed in modern sampling.
Chris Buncic, President & CEO of Condor, highlighted the strategic importance of the land acquisition: “Securing this expanded concession package at Huiñac Punta gives us meaningful scale to execute our maiden drill program and pursue a significant silver and base metals discovery. The drill permit documentation is expected imminently, positioning us to advance exploration activities in the near term.”
Condor operates multiple exploration assets in Peru. Beyond Huiñac Punta, the company holds the Pucamayo project (8,500 hectares in Ica), which hosts a high sulfidation epithermal system with disseminated precious metals mineralization and notable lithocap alteration visible at surface.
