Abstract generation in progress

GoodRx Holdings and Kroger Health have just locked in a major three-year renewal of their partnership, keeping the Kroger Rx Savings Club running across America. This means millions of shoppers can keep accessing serious discounts on everyday medications.

What’s the Deal?

Since teaming up in 2018, this collaboration has already helped hundreds of thousands of customers slash their prescription costs. The Kroger Rx Savings Club program delivers discounts on commonly prescribed generics for conditions like diabetes, asthma, mental health, women’s health, and heart issues. The real kicker? Customers can save up to 85 percent on thousands of prescriptions.

Breaking Down the Savings

The program keeps it simple for those without insurance, with insufficient coverage, or facing sky-high co-pays:

Kroger Rx Savings Club membership tiers:

  • Free tier: 30-day or 90-day prescriptions at no cost
  • Mid tier: $3 for 30-day or $6 for 90-day supplies
  • Premium tier: $6 for 30-day or $12 for 90-day supplies

The annual membership costs just $36 for individuals or $72 for families (covering up to six people). A fresh addition to the program includes discounted oral contraceptives and store-branded diabetic supplies.

Why This Matters Now

“Healthcare costs in America keep climbing, and this partnership helps tackle that directly,” explains Jim Sheninger, GoodRx’s Pharmacy Strategy Officer. With Kroger being the largest supermarket chain in the U.S., millions of customers visit daily—making this partnership uniquely accessible.

The timing is crucial. Many Americans are caught between rising medical expenses and tight budgets. By continuing this collaboration, Kroger Health President Colleen Lindholz notes that customers can “save money while maintaining their prescriptions, which is more critical than ever.”

The Numbers Behind the Partnership

Since launching in 2011, GoodRx has already saved Americans $20 billion in prescription drug costs and helped over 18 million people fill prescriptions they might have otherwise skipped. That’s not just a savings program—it’s changing access to healthcare for millions.

The Kroger Rx Savings Club membership works at pharmacies inside Kroger stores, including Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Smith’s, and Fry’s locations nationwide.

Beyond Just Prescriptions

GoodRx’s ecosystem extends further than just medication discounts. The platform also connects users with telehealth consultations, mail-order prescriptions, doctor visits, and lab tests. Meanwhile, Kroger Health operates over 2,200 pharmacies and 220 clinics (branded as The Little Clinic) across 35 states, serving more than 16 million customers with services ranging from vaccinations to nutrition counseling.

This three-year renewal signals confidence in a model that’s clearly working—delivering affordable healthcare access to a massive consumer base when it matters most.
