CEX releases update on Flow(FLOW) network security incident: remaining hacker funds on the platform have been frozen, urging the project team to disclose a post-incident report.
On December 31, CEX released an update regarding the Flow(FLOW) cybersecurity incident: On December 27, 2025, a serious security vulnerability occurred on the Flow(FLOW) network, and hackers exploited a system flaw to mint a large number of tokens. Upon learning of the incident, CEX took immediate action; the team successfully tracked and froze the remaining funds of the hacker on the CEX platform, aiming to minimize losses and protect the rights of Flow token holders. Regarding this incident and the ongoing communication between CEX and the Flow project team, the following points are specifically clarified: · Although CEX has repeatedly reached out to the Flow project team and offered support, since the incident occurred, the project team has not engaged in any substantive communication or cooperation. · If the project team decides to implement an independent on-chain recovery plan to address this hacker incident, it must exclude addresses of major centralized exchanges (CEX), including CEX wallets, as affected users from different CEXs have already received appropriate compensation. · The Flow project team is urged to publish a detailed post-mortem report, clearly explaining the root cause of this security incident and outlining measures to prevent similar events from happening again. If necessary, CEX is also willing to provide security support to help strengthen the defense capabilities of the Flow ecosystem.
