A well-known travel platform's overseas version has recently quietly launched a stablecoin payment feature, allowing users to book hotels and flights directly with USDT and USDC. This move may seem ordinary, but it actually reflects a deep integration between traditional commerce and crypto payment infrastructure.

When it comes to the advantages of stablecoin payments, data speaks volumes. Practical tests show that paying with stablecoins can save approximately 18% in costs compared to traditional credit cards. Why is that? Mainly because it avoids the annoying intermediary fees and exchange rate differences in cross-border payments—these add up to a significant amount.

However, there are also many technical challenges. To make this solution viable for commercial-scale applications, blockchain networks need to handle several issues: real-time exchange rate conversions, on-chain transaction confirmation speeds, stability of Gas fees, and cross-chain interoperability. Plus, there are hard financial requirements like anti-money laundering compliance checks, which are indeed challenging. But licensed payment institutions are already providing specialized technical support to ensure cross-border payment compliance.

On a broader scale, the implementation of such applications demands higher standards for underlying infrastructure. The stability and compliance capabilities of the infrastructure will become the key bottlenecks moving forward. If this trend continues, 2026 could be the year of a major explosion in stablecoin commercial applications.

Wait, an 18% cost difference? That number seems a bit exaggerated. When Gas fees skyrocket, they can eat up this profit in minutes.

An 18% cost difference? Sounds good, but the key is when will the gas fees stabilize? The fluctuations are too big right now.

An 18% cost difference, that's quite significant. However, once the gas fees spike, it all becomes pointless.

An 18% cost difference? Damn, this is truly a killer app. Finally, there's a platform daring to do this.
