New year kicked off and funding collapsed. That's the thing about the market though: clocks hit midnight, and suddenly everything shifts direction.
Honestly? I'm comfortable with this move. Negative funding rates creeping in beats the absurd rates we saw months back at the top. Way better signal. The leverage's coming out of the system instead of getting piled on like before. You'd rather see money flowing out than extreme greed pricing in every last ounce of leverage.

What does it mean when the funding rate turns negative? Those stupid leverage positions were truly disgusting. The retail investors have finally been squeezed once again.

A negative funding rate is actually a healthy signal; the previous crazy leverage was really outrageous.

The funding rate turning negative is actually a good thing; loosening leverage allows the market to breathe.
$BTC—same patterns repeating.

It's a cleaner market when it looks like this.
