I did a lot of reflecting on my 2025 over the break.
You've probably seen a bunch of "2025 was the best year of my life" posts recently.
I'm gonna do the opposite and tell you why 2025 definitely *wasn't* the best year of my life.
Although I believe it was a pivotal year for my development, I also feel I didn't live up to my potential.
• I made too many impulsive decisions (both on the personal and trading front which cost me big) • Was far too complacent throughout periods of the year (from both a trading and business POV) • Was far too inconsistent (I had great periods, but these ultimately led to burnout, which lowered my average output - I'm also talking about everything - trading/content/fitness) • I wasn’t ruthless enough with focus/prioritization (my inputs weren't always in line with my ideal outcomes) • I broke many of my own trading rules (slow to invalidate, wrong position sizing, rushing entries, etc.)
I want you to know that after 7 years in the space, I'm still making mistakes. Self-development, trading, and business (which are all interlinked) are non-stop journeys that require constant work. The most important thing is to be honest with yourself and address things head-on, rather than burying your head in the sand. I'm hoping that 2026 will be a much better year for me across the board.
So I urge you, if you haven't already, to reflect on your 2025. Be honest with yourself, and set some non-negotiables for the new year. The power of compounding is immeasurable - with the right daily actions, you could be in a completely different spot come this time 2027.
