Deep Tide TechFlow News, January 7th, according to Cryptopolitan, the cryptocurrency ATM operator Bitcoin Depot has reached an agreement with the Maine Consumer Credit Protection Bureau (BCCP) to pay $1.9 million in compensation to residents of Maine who were victims of third-party scams at the company's self-service terminals.
According to the agreement, victims who used Bitcoin Depot ATMs in Maine between 2022 and 2025 to convert cash into cryptocurrency and deposited the cryptocurrency into a "non-custodial wallet" provided by scammers can apply for a refund. The claim deadline is April 1, 2026.
