A man named Kirk West, who was accused of stealing over $11 million worth of XRP from Nancy Jones, the widow of country music legend George Jones, has filed a countersuit, denying the theft allegations and claiming that he created joint wealth through “wise crypto investments” during their relationship, and is entitled to a share of the relevant assets. West was arrested last year for allegedly stealing approximately $400,000 in cash and over 5.5 million XRP. The case also involves various cryptocurrencies such as ETH, DOGE, SHIB, and XLM. Jones stated that his Ledger hardware wallet was stolen; although about 5 million XRP were recovered, approximately 483,000 XRP (worth over $1 million) remain unrecovered. In his countersuit, West also requests the division of approximately $5 million in gold and silver assets and $1 million in cash, and accuses Jones of fraud and defamation. (Decrypt)
