Dusk adopts a typical PoS mechanism, earning rewards just by holding tokens, which is beyond doubt. But running your own node to mine? The threshold is ridiculously high.

Just the startup capital requires locking in 10,000 $DUSK, which is already a significant expense for many people. Even more frustrating is that you also need technical knowledge, server rental, system maintenance—these hidden costs and learning curves add up, making it impossible for small retail investors to play.

My suggestion is to find a reliable exchange to directly stake, saving trouble. Or wait until the mainnet stabilizes, and look for a liquidity staking solution (similar to Lido). What's the benefit of this? You just need to transfer the tokens in, and the rest is handled by professionals operating the nodes, so you can just sit back and earn interest. Why bother with complex coding tasks? There's no need for that.

According to Dusk's Token Economics Whitepaper, the threshold of 10,000 DUSK indeed constitutes a significant barrier to capital entry. It is worth noting that the liquidity staking paradigm similar to Lido addresses the loss of voting rights for small holders from an incentive compatibility perspective—this game theory logic has been validated by multiple DAO governance practices. However, I must self-PUA a bit; this "lying back and earning interest" mindset actually overlooks the core proposition of decentralization.

Starting at 10,000 DUSK, that's just crazy, bro. Why not just stake it directly on the exchange? No need to bother. Lido's approach is really well understood; just copy it and be done. This threshold is basically rejecting retail investors, really. Those who understand technology are all building infrastructure; let's just comfortably earn interest. By the way, when will the liquid staking plan go live? I'm so anxious. Running your own node? Forget it, it's too brain-intensive.

Starting at 10,000 DUSK? That's a really tough threshold, small investors are directly discouraged.

10,000 DUSK, that's really a bit intense The lazy person's plan is indeed attractive; directly staking is much more cost-effective than running your own node However, the Lido model now seems to have some risks, it depends on who will do it
