Iran: Praying for Light in the Cracks
By the ancient banks of the Tigris and Euphrates,
The wind, carrying the whimper of sand and gravel,
Is the earth mourning for the torn-apart nation.
The high walls of the government and the people's gaze,
Like two cold blades, separate warmth,
Causing hope to tremble in the cracks.
On the streets and alleys, smoke and gunfire fill the air,
Children's cries pierce through the barriers of war,
Like arrows, stabbing into every kind heart.
That shattered windowpane is the sorrow of life,
That collapsed beam crushes the wings of dreams,
Every inch of scorched earth is filled with despair.
The government's decisions are like heavy boulders,
Pressing down on the chest of people longing for freedom,
The people's shouts, like surging waves,
Impact the walls built by power.
This confrontation is like a ruthless storm,
Drenching all hopes for peace.
I stand afar, my heart clenched tight,
Tears blur my view of Iran.
I mourn the fleeting peaceful times,
Mourn the souls scorched by war,
Every sigh turns into endless melancholy,
Echoing in the silent night.
But I know, darkness will not reign forever,
The power of kindness grows quietly among the ruins.
Like new shoots breaking through the soil,
Carrying a stubborn longing for light.
I pray that the government can lay down its formidable edge,
Listen to the most genuine voices of the people;
I pray that the people can embrace tolerance,
Give the government a chance for reconciliation.
Let the dove of peace soar again in Iran's sky,
Let olive branches bloom on every inch of land.
Let children's laughter dispel the shadows of war,
Let the warmth of families reignite hope in life.
In the cracks, we plant the seeds of prayer,
Nurturing them with love and understanding, waiting for them to grow strong.
Believe that soon,
Light will pierce through the dark veil,
Iran will迎a brand new dawn,
Humanity will regain the strength of peace and kindness.
