Erdogan: Turkey firmly opposes any military action against Iran

On February 5th local time, after completing visits to Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Turkish President Erdogan stated on his return journey that Turkey firmly opposes any military actions against Iran and warned that external intervention could trigger regional disasters. Erdogan said all parties should avoid taking any steps that escalate the situation. He revealed that Turkey is working through diplomatic channels to facilitate US-Iran dialogue and is willing to play a “facilitative” role between the US and Iran to prevent new conflicts. He emphasized that Turkey’s goal is not merely to “manage conflicts” but to solidify diplomatic foundations to resolve issues before they escalate, and called for the establishment of regional security mechanisms to contain crises at their early stages.
