Apple is considering releasing a red color option for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is considering launching a new special color for this year’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max — red.

Specifically, he stated that Apple is testing a “deep red” color.

If this rumor is true, it will be the first time the Pro and Pro Max models are released in red, and the iPhone 18 Pro will also become the first iPhone model to feature a red version since the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus (PRODUCT)RED. However, it sounds like this deep red is more like a wine red rather than a bright red.

There have been previous rumors that Apple is also considering purple and brown colors for the iPhone 18 Pro, but Gurman said he believes these colors are “just different variations of the same red concept — because their shades are very similar.” In other words, these two colors may ultimately not be released.

As for the foldable iPhone, Gurman stated that Apple plans to “avoid using flashy colors” and stick to more traditional options like Space Gray/Black and Silver/White.
